Day 53: 7/9/15 (Oklahoma City to Houston)
465
miles
We took our time leaving Oklahoma City
because our next stop was Houston to see Jillian’s cousin, Caitlin, and she
wasn’t out of work until 4:30pm. We said
our goodbyes to the little Jonesy cat and thought about snatching him to bring him with us on the rest of the trip, but we decided to leave him. The drive to Houston was about 7 hours –
another long day. Traffic around Houston
was a little crazy, but we made it to Caitlin’s house just fine. Shortly after arriving, we hopped in
Caitlin’s new Camaro (she named it Coco) and went into town. We got some pizza for dinner at this place
that Caitlin has approved to be up to NY pizza standards. We also got to try some local beer brewed by
St. Arnolds which is only sold in Texas.
Once we were back at the house, we spent
some time catching up before Caitlin headed to bed since she had to work in the
morning. We tried to get some more apartment
hunting in and organized our documents and information so we could be ready to
send in an application. Around midnight,
Caitlin and her roommate come out of their rooms and told us they’re headed to
the club! Her roommate was flying out the
next day and would be gone for 2 weeks so she convinced her to go out one last
time with her. We were invited to join
them, but Jillian was pretty much already sleeping so we passed. Shortly after they left, we headed to bed.
Fact:
Caitlin drives like she’s in a NASCAR
race
